Meet Carolyn Jackson
Meet one of our residents, Carolyn Jackson. Carolyn is 106 years young. Carolyn frequents our facility on short term respite care. This is her third admission into our facility. Carolyn grew up in East St. Louis. She is one of 4 children and is the youngest. Carolyn’s mother passed away when she was very young, so she was raised by her father and older sister. Carolyn’s father held 28 patents at one time. 2 are still in use,. First was for the hand flour sifter and the second was for the flapper in the air conditioner and heating systems. Carolyn was married once back in 1935 and remained married until her husband passed in 1990.Mrs Jackson and her husband had one child Gary Jackson.
Gary continues to help take care of his mother. Her son shared several stories with us. He had told us that his mother used to be a flapper in her youth. Carolyn moved from East Louis with her husband and her son in the 40s and lived there until she was 103. When she isn’t with us at the facility she is at her son’s house. Carolyn also has a daughter n law along with 2 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
